driveby-shops

During a traffic jam in the centre of Paris, I started to take pictures of shop windows we were driving past from the car to pass the time. When I looked at the pictures later, I realised how complex they were. There were always different layers – the people in front of the shops, the window displays, the reflections in the windows and also the interior views. Only when you look at the pictures for a longer time can you really take them in.

Since then, I always take new pictures during my travels.
Most of them are really drive-by shots from the car, but now and then I also take them during my walks through the cities.
